April Fools!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I'm sure you all guessed that the last post was our April Fool's joke to you. We did have a few people going for a while though...which is all we really wanted. I always have to play at least one big prank on someone for April Fools. This year my victim was one of my manager at work, Josh. He left an hour early today so I decided to call him and tell him some bad news. I told him that the new regional manager had stopped in and wasn't very happy when he found there was no manager on duty. I said I was calling from the bathroom but the last thing I saw was him yelling at my friend Justin (who was running the shift), pretty much tearing him a new one. I told him he was pissed that he left early and that I'd update him when I knew more of what was going on. I kept him hanging for about an hour and then called back to tell him that Justin was gone and I didn't know what happened to him...and that the regional manager was now running the shift and pissed at everybody. I told him to call Justin and figure out where he was cause I couldn't get a hold of him. Sure enough, he calls Justin within ohhhh I wanna say...5 seconds of getting off the phone with me. Justin makes up this crazy story about how he got fired after being blamed for Josh not being there and blamed that the place looked like shit. The only thing Josh can say is, "So pretty much I'm gonna get fired tomorrow, huh?" I had never heard more concern in someone's voice than his at that moment. We had him shitting his pants, so we decided that was the best time to tell him it was a prank. It was fucking awesome, although he didn't find it very funny. Oh well. Anyway, here's an epic blog for you all today.

The Conor and Rick
Summer Tour of 2009

by Conor Levis

So today I'm going to give you a list of concerts and shows Rick and I plan to attend this spring/summer, both together and individually. This is the early list but there are some great acts out there...let's explore, shall we?

4/10
Chris Cornell of Soundgarden
@ The House of Blues - Boston, MA

Don't you dare say Cornell sold out. Ok maybe he did but whatever, he still performs Soundgarden and Audioslave classics at all his shows. Here's what sucks about this though........

Aesop Rock
@ Plymouth State University

Yup, Aesop is coming to NH. I really considered going to see Chris instead but I decided against it. If it was Soundgarden playing, then it would be a no brainier. But since it's only Cornell, I'm going to see my man Aesop. Plus, Rick and a bunch of my other friends are going and it's at my old school so you better believe we're gonna get crazy after.

5/14
Third Eye Blind
@ Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom- Hampton Beach, NH

I know what you're thinking...but hear me out. I'm the kind of guy who likes to see any band that I listen to it. They had some great hits in the 90's that are in heavy rotation on the Conor Levis iPod. Plus my friend Liz is getting the tickets so I figure what the hell? It will be a good show. I don't think Rick will be coming though.

6/03
Nine Inch Nails & Jane's Addiction
@ Comcast Center - Mansfield, MA

I can't even explain how epic it is that the original lineup of Jane's Addiction featuring Dave Navarro and Perry Farrell have reunited to tour with Nine Inch Nails. Rick's already seen NIN but I missed out so you know that both of us will be at this once-in-a-lifetime show.

6/20
No Doubt
@ Comcast Center - Mansfield, MA

I really, really want to see this show. I mean really. I want to make sure I emphasize that enough. Tragic Kingdom is one of Rick and I's favorite albums. And we both have a crush on Gwen Stefani. We will do all that we can to be there.

7/07
Joe Cocker
@ Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom- Hampton Beach, NH

One of the great soul singers. Performed at Woodstock and one of the first white acts at the Apollo Theatre. The guy who gave us this rendetition of "With A Little Help From My Friends" and the originals "You Are So Beautiful" and "Up Where We Belong". I definitely want to see this. I'll drag Rick here if I have to.

And of course we have the festivals........

05/29 - 05/31
Moutain Jam 2009
Hunter Mountain, NY

3 day festival, a chance to relax and meet some cool people, smoke some weed...all that good stuff. The acts that stand out to me are the Allman Brothers Band for obvious reasons, Coheed and Cambria, and Richie Havens (the opening act at Woodstock). Rick and I definitely want to go to this one.

And then the big one............

6/11- 6/14
Bonnaroo 2009

Manchester, TN

I think this one's a little self explanatory. Rick and I wanted to see Phish when they come to Mansfield for their reunion tour...until we found out they are playing 2 shows at Bonnaroo. Why see them once when you can see them TWICE along with these other great acts. Just look at that lineup! Bruce Springsteen, Phish, The Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Al Green, Snoop Dogg, Elvis Costello, Erykah Badu, The Mars Volta, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Animal Collective, etc. The list goes on and on. Me, Rick, and a couple of our friends are very adamant on going to this one and we will. Nothing says summer like a road trip down to Tennessee for 4 days to meet some cool people and listen to great music.

Rock The Bells
http://www.guerillaunion.com/rockthebells/

We will also attend Rock the Bells when the lineup is announced this year, it's the greatest Hip-Hop festival out there right now, strictly for REAL Hip-Hop heads. Last year headlined A Tribe Called Quest and Nas. The year before that was Wu-Tang and Rage Against the Machine. You can always count on an unbelievable lineup for that festival.

Realistically, we'll only be able to attend half of the shows that we want to because of time and money constraints. But still it's fun to look at and pick the shows you like. We'll keep you updated when more concerts present themselves. Later!
